I am the owner and founder of Vergara Law, a boutique firm specializing in entertainment, intellectual property, and small business law. One of the best things about the work I do is that I get to work with strong, creative, motivated people every day
Before Law School
I grew up in Los Angeles county, specifically in the City of Norwalk. As an undergrad, I attended USC where I graduated cum laude with a B.S., in Music Industry – a program that’s a blend of a business degree with a music degree, with a special focus on the entertainment industry.
I was first exposed to intellectual property law while I was at USC. I took an “Intro to Law” course, and the fact that you can have a property interest in something intangible – something that you can’t touch or feel – just blew me away.
After graduating from USC, I worked at The Forum in Inglewood, moving my way up from an Event Manager to Director of Event Services, where I helped manage the day-to-day activities of the venue. With this experience, I decided to pursue my interest in law and enrolled at Southwestern Law School, graduating in the top 10 percent of my class.
After Law School
After law school, I worked at a labor and employment law firm where I represented plaintiffs in a variety of matters, including harassment, discrimination, and wage and hour disputes. I loved helping my clients, but over time I realized that my true passions were still centered on intellectual property and entertainment law, with a growing interest in small businesses.
I decided to form Vergara Law and build a practice with my own vision in mind; a practice that focused on the client experience first (rather than the billable hour first) and that embraced new technology and new forms of doing business. From the start, my goal was to leverage technology so that I could provide high-quality, affordable legal services to help my clients protect and monetize their vision without compromising their values, integrity, and individuality.
My role – as I see it – is to help creatives and entrepreneurs create magic. That’s my job.
What Can You Expect?
I listen and tailor my approach to my clients’ needs. I don’t have a “one size fits all” approach and, because of that, I don’t have a “one size fits all” pricing model. Although there are common considerations, the specific facts in each situation are different and what matters most to one person or the next is different. Is your goal to increase revenue and cash flow? Or is your goal to build your brand and recognition? Let’s discuss your priorities and create a plan that will get you where you want to go as efficiently, effectively, and painlessly as possible.
More About Me
I love spending time and traveling with my partner, Siama. While I’ve been to many amazing places abroad, I’d really like to travel more within the U.S. Next up: New Orleans.
I love the outdoors, both surf and turf. I plan to hike the John Muir trail no later than 2021, and plan to take up snowboarding and surfing this coming year.
I also enjoy cooking, reading, and playing the piano.

Emmanuel is very knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. Contacting him via phone and e-mail was easy. He was even available (and willing) to meet with me near my office in downtown. I would definitely work with him again.
